What is acne?

Acne is an inflammatory condition of the skin that commonly affects the face, shoulders, chest and back. While it most often affects teenagers, it plagues adults too.

There are many different types of acne, ranging from the early open- and closed-comedones, or blackheads and whiteheads, to inflammatory lesions such as papules, pustules, nodules and cysts.

Aside from affecting the way you look, acne can also be quite painful, which is why we like to use a holistic approach to treatment. The integration of prescriptions, good, at-home daily skin care regimens and esthetic treatments like peels and facials will enable you to attain clearer skin faster, with results that last longer.

Acne doesn’t just affect teenagers. It affects adults too.
